What is MOCCA

The Museum of Contemporary Chilean Art, MOCCA, is an online museum created with the objective of promoting contemporary Chilean artists who, otherwise, would have a difficult time showing and selling their work abroad. Given the phenomenon of globalization, MOCCA also invites artists from other countries, thus opening the doors of Chile to them, and connecting them with the rest of the world.

MOCCA began its promotional focus in Asia, while simultaneously working to penetrate markets in America, Europe and Oceania.

Why a name in English if we promote Chilean art? Because it's a universal language, most likely to be understood by the target market. Currently, MOCCA's website is available in English and Spanish; in the future, we will also include versions in French, German, Dutch and Asian languages.

Objectives

  • To promote Chilean artists, of all disciplines, abroad.
  • To publicize Chile to the rest of the world, through its art.
  • To expand Chilean art's exports.
  • To create stronger cultural ties between Chile and other nations.
  • To open the doors of Chile to artistic events from other countries.

Expected Results

  • Increased awareness about Chile and its culture, worldwide.
  • Increased artistic exchange between Chile and other countries.
  • Increased activity of Chilean artists.
  • To be a meeting point for artists, gallery owners/dealers and art lovers.

Beneficiaries

  • Hundreds or thousands of Chilean artists, of all disciplines, social strata and geographical location, living in Chile or abroad.
  • Thousands or millions of art lovers from Chile and the rest of the world, which will be able to access Chilean and foreign artworks, through a single website.
